Punjab Livestock Card will provide farmers in Punjab with easy loans up to Rs 270,000 for the purchase of wanda, silage, and mineral combinations. The farmers will have 90 days to repay their loans.

To provide farmers with interest-free loans, the Punjab government is launching the first-ever Livestock Card scheme in 2024.
While presiding over a meeting on providing livestock farmers with facilities, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the project. She said the government wanted to make livestock farmers economically independent.
The chief minister was informed that more than 40,000 dairy farmers in rural areas of South Punjab will benefit from the interest-free Punjab Livestock loan scheme.
Animal food will be purchased with the loan amount.
The Punjab Chief Minister approved the Punjab Livestock Card project, which will grant interest-free loans for animal feed worth Rs250,000.

Scheme objectives:
The Punjab government has started registration of farmers under the “Chief Minister’s Kissan Card” scheme from June 01, 2024, to provide interest-free agricultural loans.
Scheme Components:
Farmer’s registration for the scheme will be carried out ONLINE.
All farmers, with land holding upto 12.5 acres will be eligible.
Farmer have to mobile SIM registered against his own CNIC (PMD Verified)
Famers who own land and whose land record is available in PLRA will be entitled for loan.
Farmer will be verified digitally through creation of an interface between farmers registration database (by PITB) and PLRA record.
Upon registration and verification of land, verification from NADRA, PMD, eECIB, farmer will be issued a Chief Minister Kissan Card by Bank of Punjab.
Initially loan facility will be provided to 500,000 famers on first come first serve basis.
Maximum loan per farmer per season will be Rs. 150,000 for 5 Acres (@PKR 30,000/acre).
Loan amount can only be used for purchase of agriculture inputs (Fertilizer, Seed etc).
